Joanna is an experienced Key Stage 1 teacher and currently works as both KS1 Leader and Reading Leader. She has a strong passion for literacy and is committed to giving every child the best possible start to their reading journey. In her own school, she leads a team with a clear focus on high-quality teaching and learning, supporting staff to reflect on and continually develop their practice. Joanna has been a strong advocate for high-quality phonics and early reading across Early Years and Key Stage 1 and has played an important role in strengthening teaching practice and improving outcomes for pupils.

Building on this experience, Joanna is keen to work alongside other schools, sharing her expertise and supporting them as they develop and strengthen their reading provision. She is driven by the belief that every child can succeed and is especially passionate about helping all pupils become confident, fluent readers who enjoy books and develop a love of reading that supports them throughout their education.
