Emma is an experienced KS1 and Senior Leader with a strong passion for developing early reading and writing across her own school. She is dedicated to ensuring that every child develops the strong foundations in literacy to become confident and successful readers and writers. Emma is a strong advocate for developing a culture of reading across school. She believes that all children should have the opportunity to become readers and is keen to ensure that every child develops a love of reading.

As a reading leader, Emma has a clear understanding of how consistent high-quality teaching, accurate assessment and targeted intervention can work to ensure strong outcomes for children. She works closely to support staff through coaching and modelling to enable them to be the best reading teachers they can be.

Emma is also experienced in supporting other schools to strengthen their phonics and reading provision. She works collaboratively with colleagues, sharing effective practice, providing professional guidance and supporting schools to develop sustainable approaches that improve teaching and learning. She is particularly skilled at building staff confidence and capacity through coaching, modelling and purposeful professional development.
